Photographs taken by Stacy Beaucicut- Etienne

Petronella was born in Uganda and moved to the United States at the age of 10.

Although she graduated with a chemical engineering degree and years later got an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, she always had a creative side.  Using African material, she designed the gold and blue dress in the photographs above.   In college, her closest friends secretly called her “Kodak” because Petronella always had a camera with her and has piles of albums documenting every phase of her life.  She would take her dad’s film camera, play around with the dials and take photos of any and everything.  It wasn’t until her friends and family began asking her to formally document their lives and special events that Petronella decided to really understand the technical aspects of photography.

Today she is a proud member of the Professional Photographers of America association.  Her photography style can be described as a mix of photojournalistic and lifestyle photography.

Petronella loves to travel and during the past few years, she has experienced adventures in different countries across 6 continents.

When you get a personal email from her, it will likely have the G.W. Hegel quote: “Nothing great in this world has ever been created without passion,” a philosophy Petronella truly believes.
