What do Kate Middleton and Sonia have in common?
Read on to find out. Josh and Sonia met in college as freshmen. She was supposed to be tutoring his roommate, but when he didn’t show up, Josh was there to walk her back to her dorm room. They started talking and found out they had a lot in common with each other.
Fast forward… several years later during a sunset beach picnic in Savannah, GA, Josh proposed to Sonia by playing and singing a song he had written for her. He then gave her a sapphire engagement ring that he’d custom designed just for her. For many months, her friends commented that the sparkling blue engagement ring she wore was “interesting” until 6 months later when Prince William of the Royal family gave Kate Middletown a similar-looking ring, then everyone commented that Sonia’s engagement ring had possibly inspired Kate’s engagement ring.
Sonia is from the Congo and Josh is American. Josh kept both of us laughing throughout the entire engagement session with lines like “hey girl, can I have your pager number,” and I’m so excited to photograph their Congolese-American wedding this fall in Birmingham, AL.
