Just own the night like the 4th of July!
Katy Perry‘s “Firework” song always ignites a spark in me to take that next step to my big goals. It also has a catchy beat and rally cry, so I always have a mini dance party at some point during the song.
If you’re looking to ignite your photographic spark, here are some tips for taking spark-tastic 4th of July fireworks!
- You’ll be shooting at very slow shutter speeds, so you need a tripod or in my case, I used the top of a car as my tripod since I left mine at home.
- You need to be able to control and play around with various settings, so set your camera to manual.
- Start with 2s shutter speed and play around with various SLOW shutter speeds to determine what you want the fireworks to look like (streaky or spotty or a combination).
- Choose an aperture of greater than 8
- ISO 100
- Fire away!
