Oh Bermuda, how I miss thee!
Inspired by Dan O’Day’s post on the Define School on going away somewhere to disrupt my regular routine and letting go of all the little day to day management, I spent a lovely week in Bermuda vacationing, but more importantly, challenging myself and clarifying how, what and why I shoot the way I do.
I love color, so get ready for a color explosion of photos!
What I discovered is how much I love color, how to focus on the present and appreciate the beauty in front of me, that simplicity moves and inspires me so much and that in the rush to keep up, I’d lost that gift of simplifying and focusing.
This time, my trip to Bermuda was less about getting sightseeing adventures checked off the list and more about really experiencing and taking in the scenery!
I discovered that letting go of the past frees you up to move forward. Let Go. Let God!
I also realized that I’m a workaholic. Whew, I said it. Even though I was in a private cabin up on a mountain in St George’s, I was checking email at midnight. That stopped after Day 2. I had to force myself to rest and recharge, to STOP going and START being still. Grateful for that I was forced to do that in beautiful Bermuda!
Sometimes, it’s O-K-A-Y to find a quiet hole and get away from it, even if for 15minutes.
