Two years ago, I was in Vietnam during peak humid summer weather. It was literally like being inside a pressure cooker. Seconds after taking a shower and walking outside, you felt like you needed another shower.
One of the most exciting and scary things to do was to cross the street. There was always. ALWAYS. a steady influx of traffic: people walking, cars, motorcycles, buses. The key in crossing the streets was to walk very slo-w-l-y, so whatever vehicle was coming towards you could easily maneuver around you. Very counter-intuitive. I just wanted to make a mad dash across the streets because it seemed like suicide to calmly walk slo-w-l-y across the street. It reminded me of my childhood days playing Frogger. Remember Frogger? Here’s a video on what it’s like… but I digress.
Have you ever wanted something badly, like RIGHT now?
With Twitter, Facebook, email on every device etc, I find myself wanting to make things happen faster, but I’m learning there’s long-lasting contentment in learning to be patient and just slo-w-i-ng down and enjoying life.
I hope you slo-w-l-y enjoy these photos from Hanoi. You can see they have a fuzzy haze on them due to the thick steam that hung in the air and fogged up the lens.

Look at all the wires!
