When Mike was planning to surprise Kristine with a Penthouse rooftop marriage proposal in midtown New York, he went all out and thought through all the romantic details including a custom made ring box, flowers, favorite candy Swedish fish and an elaborate engraved rug with some help from The Heart Bandits.
Mike told Kristine to get dressed up and had a limousine pick them up to take them to the surprise penthouse rooftop location.
Once they arrived, he told her they were having drinks upstairs… where he revealed a custom cloth mat which had photos and key moments of their relationship stamped into the mat that was beautifully surrounded by gerber daisies. Kristine was in awe by all the details: pink and red rose petals, photos with specific inside joke memories, guitarist, wine etc. of the surprise New York midtown penthouse rooftop marriage proposal.
I loved that he had a guitarist Paul play one of their favorite songs: Carly Jepsen’s, “Call Me Maybe.”

When did you know he/she was the one? When I realized how much of a match we were. Actually it was on my birthday. She planned this elaborate getaway to California. I knew then.
What do you love about her & him? I love how spontaneous Mike is and his energetic personality. I love how Kristine is such a loving mother to her daughter Carmella and will do anything for a fried in need.
How did you pick the ring? I purchased the ring online through a jeweler located in the diamond district called Excel Diamonds in New York city . I looked at around 100 different loose diamonds until I found the one I liked.
During his birthday trip to California with Kristine, Mike purchased a souvenir tree slab that was at the gift shop. As he was planning the proposal, he reached out to a guy on Etsy who could convert the wood into a ring box. I think he did with the tree stump was so meaningful.
What advice do you have to other guys when planning your proposal? My advice is to get a proposal planner as I did. I hired The Heart Bandits and they were a blessing in disguise as they helped me with lots of suggestions.
What did you tell her to get her to the proposal location? That we were meeting her friends for drinks and dinner.
