When JP was planning his Upper West Side New York proposal together to Lauren, he created a fake Groupon art lesson.
Well, first he consulted with The Heart Bandits to confirm the planning and details of the proposal and then to really make sure she had no idea what was up, he spent the night creating a fake real looking Groupon because he knew Lauren wouldn’t suspect much since he’s a regular Groupon fan.
He chose an art lesson because as an architect, he’s building a penthouse home for them to live in and wanted the first painting in their home to be the “Will You Marry Me?” pink heart painting.
We headed to Central Park, where JP & Lauren love to go cycling together. Throughout our session together, JP kept saying, “she’s the most gorgeous person I know. She’s the girl version of me. What’s not to love about me?”

How did you meet? We met in chemistry class at
Christ the King High School. I was a junior and she was a sophomore. We ended up in a group together.
When did you know she was the one? As soon as I saw her in high school. We were best friends for awhile. He became more than friends one day when I suddenly kissed her out of nowhere. 12/25/03 is our official first date and when I asked her to be my girlfriend. We broke up two times but kept coming back together. We just have fun together. She’s like one of the guys.
What do you love about her/him? *
Shes my rock, whenever things are bad I always know its okay because shes there which is the only thing that matters
How did you pick the ring? After months of searching for the perfect stone, and I designed the ring at Ranieri Jewelers.
What advice do you have to other guys when planning your proposal? The longer you plan, the longer you stress, just get it done.
What did you tell her to get her to the proposal location? I told her we were taking a couples art class using a
Groupon I’d gotten.
