It had been raining all morning since 4am.

Looking at the dreary sky, we all agreed that the sun would not to come out and made plans for an indoor Haitian wedding celebration. But I knew Marsha & Alex chose Douglaston Manor for its beautiful outdoor Spanish tiled and green golf course look, so right after the ceremony, I asked Marsha how she felt about possibly getting her dress a little wet since it was drizzling.

Marsha was a trooper and said, “I’ll probably never wear this dress again. Let’s do it.” While shooting in the front, Alex noticed that the sun was setting in the back of the manor, so we ran… Marsha in her heels across the sinking green grass, to catch the last few moments as the sun set.

It turns out that a dreary sky produces the most vivid sunset…

what started out as a dismal day ended beautifully.
