We are all different and we are all alike. What matters most, however, is that we are all significant.
When I first moved to the United States at age 10, my parents quickly enrolled me in a nearby elementary school E.P.I.C., whose motto included this quote. E.P.I.C believed that individual differences & diversity enrich their school.
So I was blessed with the opportunity to take classes with peers who were deaf, blind, in wheelchairs, from different countries and taking ESL (English as Second Language) classes, etc.
It was one of the best experiences I’ve had, and I’ve only just realized how much it shaped me and what I do as a photographer and my photography mission.
We are all significant.
