I’ve been like a little kid before Christmas… waiting to share this story and the photos. I’m that excited! As a result, I decided to break it up into 2 posts.
In April, I attended Mike Colon’s workshop and met some amazing people.
It was great learning from Mike Colon because he’s not only very talented but passionate about photography, humble and easy-going. In a competitive industry where most photographers hoard information, hearing Mike talk so openly and profoundly about sharing photography techniques, styles, etc. as a gift to others profoundly struck me and has transformed the way I think about my business. He shared the story of a family who knew the secrets of jiu jitsu and how half the family kept the jiu jitsu techniques to themselves because they felt it was a sacred family secret, while other family members freely shared their knowledge and how it led to even more growth and development of new techniques.
Kat is part of Mike Colon’s team and also pretty cool. When I first got an email from her, I instantly knew I’d like her and her coolness factor only increased when I found out she used to work at the NGO Invisible Children, had traveled to my birth country Uganda and has taken hip/hop dance classes. I was pleasantly surprised to meet her in person and discover that she has an infectious personality and a heart after God.
It took a team of amazing team of people to put together this fabulous bridal photo shoot including the always stylish and personable Jackie Weppner of Merci New York. During the shoot, I kept eyeing her stylish green patterned coat.
Stay tuned for more details on the shoot, which was featured on Style Me Pretty, in Part 2. Until then, check out all the vendors including:
