Lizette has been a dear, close friend of mine for a long time, and over the years, it’s been such a pleasure getting to know her husband Charles and now baby Olivia.
As we walked around New York City, Charles and Lizette realized that they were staying directly across the street from their former church (now The Lambs Club) where they first met 7 years ago. That day, Charles was looking for a place to sit upstairs at church and Lizette very graciously offered him a place next to her. Charles then spent the next Sunday mornings looking out for Lizette but Lizette usually sat downstairs, so they missed each other but eventually reconnected. They now live in Chicago, so it was extra special for them to share this memorable location with their baby girl.
From the very beginning of the session, Charles had us all laughing. When I asked him what he was going to wear for the shoot, he initially came out in a white fluffy bathrobe. He kept the rest of the afternoon lively with many jokes.
My favorite moment of the session was when Olivia pointed at her parents and then to the carousel at Bryant Park. Even though she had only been there one other time, this smart, little 21month old remembered it like it was yesterday. When we walked over to the carousel and told her it was closed, she had the best expression ever: a mix of shock, confusion and disbelief. Love it!
Charles and Lizette are good people, and it’s easy to see that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Olivia is beautiful, so sweet and very smart. She’s already bilingual (English and Spanish)!
