I love photographing surprises, especially when the person of honor is loved so much by their family. Love the excitement in the air, priceless expressions and reactions.
Evelyne’s children, sisters, nieces, grandchildren all helped plan a beautiful Haitian birthday celebration at the Vodou Bar in Brooklyn, New York. They told her that a special wedding ceremony was taking place, and she was invited to the celebration. So she dressed the part and was completely caught off guard when she walked through the door and realized the event was for her.
Lovingly nicknamed “Foufoune,” Evelyne looked stunning in her purple dress and heels. Her 5 children (last photo) definitely get their good looks from their mama.
No doubt, Eveylne makes sixty look fabulous and aspirational!
Did I mention the delicious Haitian meal prepared by the chef at Vodou lounge? Still salivating over it.
