New York Central Park | A Surprise Marriage Proposal de Nieve

I loved photographing Lola and Elias’ surprise marriage proposal de nieve (snow in Spanish) at New York’s Central Park’s Belvedere Castle.

Miren esta pedida de mano en un dia nevado en el parque central de Nueva York.

By the time we arrived at Central Park, the snow had piled up to 8in. All the news outlets were blaring Winter Storm Warning and the snow was coming down hard, but both Nikki of Mae B Films and I passionately love what we do, so we prepared for the surprise marriage proposal like the sun was shining.

I love this photo of the soon-to-future-Mrs approaching “the location.”

The guitarist Paul started playing their song, Rod Stewart’s “Have I Told You Lately.”

Then.it.happened.

Elias had traveled all the way from Mexico, and he was now at the Central Park’s Belvedere Castle, down on one knee in the mushy snow. I felt a combination of adrenaline and tears coming up fast.

I love all the details that Michele of The Heart Bandits pulled together to make this proposal so special.

Tears of joy as Lola calls her friends and family to let them know the good news!

And then her whole family shows up!!!  What an wonderful surprise!

In Mexico and in Latin culture, family is everything.  So I love that Elias had both families show up to celebrate the proposal.
