This is the story of how Ali traveled from Dubai to Central Park New York and proposed to Caroline with an acapella “Unchained Melody” serenade
Ali was so nervous that he woke up at 4am and told Caroline it was due to jetlag since they had just arrived from Dubai 2 days earlier.
During lunch, he kept drinking more champagne to build up his courage & calm his nerves. But as the horse & carriage dropped them off, he spilled champagne all over himself, the proposal words he wanted left his mind as the acapella group sang “Unchained Melody” & he placed the ring on the wrong finger.
But it didn’t matter. Caroline loved him & said yes because she remembered that during their 1st date, she spilled wine all over him.
Maybe it’s his French laissez-faire attitude, but I love Ali’s gracious motto: “it’s all about accepting the other person just as they are. Flaws & all.”
