I met Rojelio, just call me “Mark,” on the subway one day. I was sitting next to him and he was drawing the woman directly across from him.
The day of the photoshoot was a very cold, windy day and I was concerned the wind would obstruct the shoot, but Mark was a trooper: cool, collected and at ease. Talk about a passion for drawing! At every location, he would immediately start drawing whatever was around him. Mark has a theme for each year where he challenges himself to draw something simple in different ways for the entire year! 2011 is the year of the rabbit.
At the end of the shoot, I thought it would be cool for both of us to simultaneously do a portrait of each other creating a portrait of the other person; I photographed Mark drawing me and he drew me photographing him. How talented is Mark! Check out the final portraits of an artist. Love mine!

Below is Mark’s portrait of the lady on the subway.

Here’s my portrait of Mark and his portrait of me.

May, thank you! It was fun. Two artists doing their thing.
Simulataneous self-portraits. Genius and the photos are even more beautiful.
