“I’m getting the travel bug again.”
I turned to my friend with a concerned look on my face. She gave me the strangest look. “Didn’t you just get back from traveling across the country 3 weekends in a row?”
Fully acknowledging how blessed I am to travel, I still answered, “yes, but… ” Then, what has probably been so obvious to my family and close friends, hit me. I love to travel like some people like Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream. There, I said it and I own it. Travel is my default when I need to hit the reset button on my life because I always come back feeling reinvigorated and with greater clarity. I love finding a good travel deal, exploring new places, meeting new people and connecting. I guess that’s part of what I’ve been craving lately… In a foreign country where no one speaks English, I have to be 100% present, taking it all in with all five senses.
Or maybe I’m just craving a second trip back to Bolivia, where I was the maid of honor at my best friend’s wedding, a second opportunity to really photograph all the sites and people with my good camera. Perhaps, I’ll make a trip to Bolivia my reward for learning Spanish this year.
Until then, a girl can only dream… of being back in Bolivia.

This post makes me so happy and so excited to go to my beloved Bolivia this December!
I grew up in Bolivia and now one of my best friends is getting married and has asked me to be her maid of honor. I would love to hear more about your experience!
I have never been a Maid of Honor, let alone in another country! It has been years since I’ve been there, but I constantly long to return!
