This is one of my favorite photos from the shoot with both papa and baby wearing traditional Ugandan kikoyi shirts.

My nephew Tendo was energetic all morning, listening to the birds, grabbing the leaves.  Then for a split moment, he sighed and snuggled up with his father.  Grateful I caught this fleeting moment since Tendo isn’t much of a cuddler.

A few weeks ago, I photographed my brother-in-law and nephew wearing matching traditional Ugandan kikoyi shirts.

Kikoyi refers to the actual woven fabric with red, yellow and black colors similar to the colors from the Ugandan flag.  Traditionally, these are the colors, but lately I’ve seen different ones with modern, fun colors like purple, pink and blue.

Enjoy some more photos from the shoot.
