I love dogs, but I have a special place in my heart for small dogs.  There’s something feisty, energetic and spunky about them.   They may look cute, small and harmless but they pack a punch and I can identify with that idea.

During a visit to Washington D.C., my friend allowed me to walk her Min Pin (short for a miniature Doberman Pinscher) around the neighborhood one night.  We were rounding the corner when I suddenly saw a large Bullmastiff heading in our direction.  My first instinct was to scoop up 10lb Jasmine and walk in the other direction, but before I could do that, Jasmine jerked forward and started growling with a ferocity that shocked me and caused the other dog and its owner to stop, look and walk in the opposite direction.  Jasmine barked and stood her ground long after they were both out of sight.

So here are pictures of sweet, exhausted Jasmine after our walk outside.  Assertive and feisty, all wrapped up in a cute little package.

That is soo precious! It’s funny how she doesn’t even realize she should be afraid.
