I looked at the screen and thought, “I’ve got one of those. I think I could fly this.”

The words Garmin flashed up on the DA40 glass cockpit avionics (love that I learned some technical aircraft terms during the shoot).
I spent the weekend photographing Diana, who had just graduated from MTSU flight school with top honors. She even offered to fly me back home, but I kindly declined; I have a fear of very small planes. I’ve never been out on an air field, so it was an amazing experience photographing Diana in the cockpit and around the field with planes taking off and landing onthe runway.
Congratulations to this rising “top gun” and wishing you all the best as you pursue your flight dreams.

Giving thanks, Tim Tebow style.

Looking sharp in the cockpit as she prepares to take off.
