Less than 15hrs before their wedding at the IATSE Ballroom in Philadelphia, the groom Lucas was injured in a terrible motorcycle accident & was now lying in the hotel fully bandaged, unable to move… No one said a word but we silently knew the wedding would have to be postponed… but when he saw my team, he looked at us and said, “nothing is going to stop me from marrying the woman of my dreams.”
With the help of family & his fiancée Shanae, he got out of bed and proceeded to get ready. Underneath his sunglasses & white tux, his ribs, fingers and face were badly bruised, but you couldn’t tell because his heart was beaming with excitement. Throughout their wedding ceremony, I couldn’t help but notice how tightly he held her hand: a symbol that no matter what, he was committed to her. I have never.seen.such strength, positivity, determination and display of love before.
At their wedding reception: Lucas danced through the pain to Michael Jackson because in his words, “he was going to maximize every penny they had saved for their wedding.”
I’m so honored to have their beautiful wedding story featured on Munaluchi Bride.
