You might spend months planning your wedding. The day itself goes by as quickly as saying, “I do.” Not wanting the celebration to end, you’ll wake up the next day happy. You’re now looking forward to the next two big wedding-related events. These are going on your honeymoon and looking at your photographs!

Those photographs will paint the picture of your wedding day for you and future generations. While you celebrated, we were busy capturing your most special moments, including some you might have missed! (You can’t be everywhere at once, after all, but photographers…well, it almost seems like we can.)

Here’s why we believe you absolutely need a wedding album!

Why You Need a Wedding Album

However, it’s not enough to merely look at your photos and choose your favorites. There are just too many! You can’t easily browse hundreds of shots and still get the full experience of your wedding. Some photos, like close-ups of your shoes or make-up brushes or the scenery, don’t even make sense when you view them alone on their own. And let’s be real, looking at images on a screen is cool, but nothing beats being able to touch and feel anytime, anywhere, anyplace – no internet access or computer necessary!  So basically, to get the most enjoyment out of your photos, you have to make a plan about what you’re going to do with all those photos; you need a wedding album.

Don’t Hide Your Most Meaningful Photos

“But I can just keep them on my computer!” you might think.  BUT there are some problems with that.

When was the last time you sat down and spent time browsing through several photos you have stored on your computer or smartphone? Did you and a few friends crowd around the screen with a glass of wine and reminisce about the memories associated with those photos?

Whether you keep a wedding album on a nearby shelf or store it carefully away, it’s always accessible. You can pull it out and relax on the couch with your spouse or if you order our mini album, you can carry it in your purse or handbag or briefcase, take it along with you in car, train, airplane and flip through page after beautiful page anytime, anywhere, anyplace.

Ensure the Safety of Your Images

The other problem with digital storage is that technology changes all the time. It wasn’t that long ago that we didn’t even have phones that could take high-quality photos, much less store a bunch of them. If you have any important information left on floppy disks, that’s too bad.

It’s easy to believe we’ll be using flash drives for decades. Or that we’ll remember to transfer the material as required, but that’s usually not the case. I learned this the hard way. When my sister wanted to access the first film she ever created and we realized it was on a CD. We quickly realized none of our laptops, computers or iPads had a CD drive. We scrambled to find a solution. This made me realize how quickly technology evolves and the importance of getting photos printed.

And you’ve probably had at least one of these experiences: a lost flash drive or a crashed computer.

Just imagine if your wedding photos were there—and only there—and lost forever to a technological glitch or a major move where that tiny flash drive falls through the cracks.

Share Your Story with the Next Generation

A wedding album is like a storybook or like a forever issue of your favorite Vanity Fair or Vogue magazine.

Years down the road, it’s a way to honor and remember family members. Especially those who are no longer with you, but who joyously shared your wedding day.

It’s a treasure to pass along to your children and grandchildren. It gives them an opportunity to see you as you were that day when you took that first step toward creating your family

Consider this: last year, I wasn’t able to attend my cousin’s wedding in Kampala, Uganda. The 32-hour plane ride wouldn’t give me time to get back for the wedding I was photographing! A few months later, I had the time to visit my extended family in Uganda. The first thing my cousin did was pull out his wedding album to show me.

Seeing how his wedding came together made me feel like I was a part of the day. It wouldn’t have been the same experience any other way. Especially, if he had sent me a link to view the images in an online gallery. There was something special about holding the book and flipping through each page. I could pause to smile, laugh, or “awwww” at each image.

Your album is one of the few great records you’ll make of your family. We always think we’ll remember all the details and remember to pass along our stories, but the reality is we rarely make time for that (and our minds aren’t as sharp as we think they should be!). Your wedding album is your story, and it will always be there as a testament to your life and love.

Our Albums

If you don’t have time to create your own albums, or you aren’t sure how to cohesively tell your unique story, contact us. This is what we do best. We have an eye for curating the best photos that you’ll want to see again and again, the photos that link together each moment of your special day to create an album that truly tells the story of how your wedding day unfolded.

It’s rare for your entire family and closest friends to gather for such a happy event. You might even consider hiring a third photographer through us who can focus on capturing family images so that you can create a second family album. That way, your wedding album can focus on the beginning of your life together, while the family album can capture the people you love most. Both albums will be treasured keepsakes for years to come.

Don’t let the first viewing of your wedding photographs be the end of your wedding experience. Keep the memories alive for decades; contact us to create your wedding album. Your story matters to you and to everyone who comes next.
