Dave decided to take Kelly on a 5 week trip (12 days in the United States) from Australia ending in New York, where he proposed with a cupcake proposal on top of a New York rooftop lounge in the Flatiron district.
Kelly’s favorite place to be is at the beach, so the proposal was decorated with seaside inspiration including the name of her favorite beach The Spit on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia.
He figured out her ring size by taking an old ring of hers and had it sized.
How did he propose? David proposed on a rooftop terrace in New York overlooking the Empire State Building. Dave set the scene of the beach to mirror their very first date.
