When Desiree and Marvin suggested Coney Island Luna Park for their engagement session and Cinematic Love Story a photo + film engagement session, Nikki of Mae B Films and I yelped. I’ve always had Coney Island on my list of New York places to visit… but never made time to make it happen. Then we discussed the story plan for their Cinematic Love Story and came up with funnel cake, cotton candy and two pups Oh My! All the things that Desiree and Marvin enjoyed on their first date together at Coney Island.
They also brought along their 2 pups: Cecil and Tracie! Coney Island sure brought out the silly in me because I thought it would be cute to place the dogs next to the Nathan’s Famous hot dog stand because these two pups are two hot dogs and it was scorching hot that day. Get it?!?
We both loved shooting this couple because together they’re playful, silly and just plain fun. We have no idea what Marvin kept telling Desiree but she was laughing the entire time throughout their session. Before their session, they told us that Marvin is funny, and Desiree is not but believes she is.
And yes, we even shot in and around the beach and they didn’t flinch when we told them to imagine they were on the set of Baywatch. Marvin jumped right in and re-enacted some scenes.
Then it was onto the funnel cake, cotton candy portion of the shoot.
One lady so loved Desiree and Marvin that she bought them funnel cake, which accidentally spilled all over Marvin but he just laughed it off.
As we were walking around, we met this guy offering free hugs! Love that Desiree and Marvin fully embraced him.
The story behind this photo is a shared inside joke and guaranteed to make us all crack up. We met this lady at the carousel who took her job of running the carousel to the next level.
Desiree will soon be Mrs. Charles, and we can’t wait for their 2015 wedding!
