I heart peonies! I love them even more when I see or receive them in an off season.
Most peonies only bloom for a few weeks around June, so you can imagine my pure delight when I was unexpectedly gifted with these gorgeous blooms in November!
Years ago when I was starting a new job, my family called me up to surprise me with flowers on my first day of work. It was late winter. When they casually asked me what my favorite flowers were, I proudly announced “peonies make me happy.” They did some research and after finding out that peonies only bloom in June, they asked me for my 2nd, 3rd and 4th favorite flowers. With the exception of roses, my favorite flowers tend to be exotic or once a year kind of flowers. Since flowers are scientifically proven to raise your spirits, I’m always happy to receive any sort of flower arrangements.
Right now, this pink/purple arrangement is seriously rocking my world this week. Check out those scrumptious colors!

Hello, my name is Cindy I am 3 years engaged.
I’m looking for the perfect arrangement my bouquet and would love to know what those purple flowers you have paired with the peonies are called. Thank you so much for sharing! 🙂
Cindy, hello! I reached out to the awesome Makini of Makini Regal Designs & Tracey Reynolds of my other floral friend Tracey of Bridal Bouquet Design, and they shared the following information.
The larger ones are dahlia’s (up toward the top of the photo)…in season from mid-end of August through October. And the other purple ones are mokara orchids… you can get them year round from Asia. Congrats on your engagement!!! I know your wedding will be lovely.
